Cylinder switches are used for the position detection of pistons in pneumatic cylinders. They detect positions in-between and end positions and provide a switching signal to the controller. Cylinder switches also detect the verly last end position very precisely.
There are non-contact and electronic cylinder switches and also switches with a mechanic operating principle (reed contact). For the types of connection it is distinguished between a conventional cable connection and a convenient plug-and-socket connection.
Cylinder switches – applications & handling
Many areas in automation technology can no longer be imagined without cylinder switches. Above all they are used in these areas:
Cylinder sensors are usually fixed via T-slots or C-slots. Cylinder switches can either be inserted from the side or directly into the slot. The sensors are securely fastened and cannot be removed without any effort.
Automation24 carries electronic and mechanical cylinder switches for T-slots. The cylinder switches that are also known as cylincer sensors belong to the category position sensors.
Electronic cylinder switches with GMR cell convince with their longevity and a switching frequency of 10,000 Hz. The operating voltage is 30 V DC. The particularly favourable reed sensors of our own brand are available with a 2m connection cable and open core end as well as an 0.3 m PUR cable and M8 connector. They have a switching frequency of 1,000 Hz and an operating voltage of 5...120 V AC/DC.
The range is complemented by the matching accessories to fix the sensors. The optional and comprehensive accessories permit not only fixing on T-slots but also on clean-line cylinders, e. g. by means of the fixing strap ifm electronic E11799. Installation on tie rod/integrated profile cylinders is e.g. possible with the adapter ifm electronic E11816.
At Automation24 you receive a selection of electronic and mechanical cylinder switches at a low price. Find the optimum cylinder switch for your application now.
